When Does Lawn Care Season Start in Edmonton?
Our season typically runs from early May through mid-October. We begin treatments once the snow has melted and soil temperatures reach around 10°C, usually in early May.
The final winterizer application goes down in late September or early October before the ground freezes. This is arguably the most important treatment of the year, as it builds carbohydrate reserves in the roots for winter survival and early spring green-up.
Edmonton's frost-free growing season is approximately 135 to 140 days, with peak grass growth in June and July.
Are Your Products Safe for Pets and Children?
Yes. All products we use are approved by Alberta Environment, Health Canada, and the Pest Management Regulatory Agency. We use integrated pest management principles to minimize environmental impact.
We recommend staying off treated areas until dry, which is usually 1 to 2 hours on a warm day. For extra caution with pets or small children, waiting 24 hours after application is ideal.

How Quickly Will I See Results?
Most customers notice a visible improvement within 2 to 3 weeks of the first application. Your lawn will look greener, feel thicker, and weeds will begin to thin out.
Each treatment builds on the previous one, so a full seasonal program of balanced feedings and targeted weed control delivers the strongest results by mid-summer. Consistency is key.
Do I Need to Aerate My Lawn?
Edmonton has predominantly clay-loam soil, which compacts easily and restricts air, water, and nutrient flow to the roots. Compacted soil is one of the biggest reasons lawns struggle in our region.
We recommend core aeration at least once per year. Spring is ideal because the soil is moist from snowmelt and your grass is entering its peak growth period, so recovery is fast.
Our Islander program includes core aeration as part of the package. It can also be added to any other program as a standalone service.
